Wat is een beeld?
Dat is de uitgangsvraag van kunst voor Ido Telchuijs. Zijn werk kent diversiteit door kleine (of grotere) seriële schilderijen, waarlangs beeldonderzoek plaatsvindt.
Rijk is het materiaalgebruik: olie- en acrylverf als basis naast (woestijn- en vulkanisch) zand meegebracht van reizen, metalen als zink, tin, lood, goud als beeldelementen en ook teer en lak.
Soms neigend naar figuratief en dan weer kleurrijk en abstract, de actie van de handeling is duidelijk, subtiel en robuust afwisselend, transparant in de exploitatie van materiaal. Maar ook vorm schuwt hij niet. Ruimte en diepte zijn het effectieve resultaat. Landschappelijkheid.
Improvisatie, autonomie, poëtisch, instrumentaal zijn sleutelwoorden bij de totstandkoming van zijn werk.

Rich is the use of materials: oil and acrylic paint such as basis beside (desert and volcanic) sand (brought from journeys), metals like zinc, tin, lead, gold as well as tar and lacquer.
Sometimes he tends to figuration and then to abstraction, always colorfull, the action on the canvas is clear, subtile and spectacular alternating, transparent in the exploitation of material. But even so he does not shun form. Space and depth are the effective result.

of his work.
